Job overview

Head of Primary and Early Years Education

Up to £93,902 / L25 - L29 (pay award pending)

Rochdale

Altus Education Partnership is an ambitious, growing Trust committed to an inclusive and cohesive education system in Rochdale and its surrounds. We believe that high-quality provision from Early Years through to Sixth Form will support young people fulfil their potential both in education and in their lives. We aim for our students to have clearly defined educational pathways and smoothly transition between each of the key stages.

It is an exciting time to join the Trust and build on the work of the current postholder, who is retiring at the end of term. The successful candidate will have an essential role enhancing provision to our youngest students and their families/carers. Alongside two secondary schools (Kingsway Park and Edgar Wood) and a sixth form college (Rochdale Sixth Form College, Altus currently has one primary school (Bamford Academy) and five more primaries in a Trust Partnership Agreement, so we are entering a period of significant growth.

As Head of Primary and Early Years Education, you will work closely with headteachers and senior leaders to make our schools the best they can be and create the foundations for effective cross-trust working, peer-to-peer support, and good practice sharing. You will also have a key leadership role in the Trust – working with colleagues across all settings to shape a cohesive approach where all students thrive. It is a professional opportunity to relish for an experienced Primary and Early Years leader who wants to take the next step in their career.

We expect that you will already have significant school leadership or school improvement experience within a primary setting. But it is your relationship skills that will really make all the difference. You will have the professional credibility and the personal empathy to quickly establish trust with a wide range of key stakeholders and build on what schools already do well and enhance the areas where they might need support.
