We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head of Primary Computing, Digital Literacy and Innovation to join our dynamic team in August 2025. This role will involve teaching computing predominantly within the Primary but to also include some teaching in KS3, leading the strategic development of digital literacy across the school, and contributing to our continued excellence as an Apple Distinguished School.

The ideal candidate will be an inspirational educator with a passion for integrating technology into learning to enhance our provision and a proven ability to lead transformative initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

 This role encompasses broad responsibilities, including:

●     Teaching computing across KS1 to KS3.

●     Leading the strategic development of digital literacy across the school.

●     Inform decision-making about strategically developing Apple Distinguished Status within the school;

●     Keep abreast of innovative ADS practice and pedagogy around the world;

●     Assess, review and develop digital initiatives to enhance engagement and functionality of ADS teaching and learning throughout the school;

●     Take a lead role in digital projects; including research-based projects which evaluate new tools and new approaches to digital initiatives;

●     Enhance the school reputation for Apple initiatives through the application of external accreditations and awards;

●     Establish an annual programme of IT training and sharing of best practice within the school, including breakfast, twilight and lunchtime IT training drop-in sessions throughout the school year;

●     Design and deliver new staff induction sessions so they are aware of the tools provided by the school.

●     Driving the re-accreditation process for Apple Distinguished School status.

●     Networking and collaborating with experts in this field to ensure we are forward thinking.

●     Supporting the professional development of staff to enhance learning through technology.

●     Collaborating with the IT team to ensure systems and hardware are optimised to meet the needs of the school community.

●     Support staff and students (where appropriate) to embed AI into the curriculum for educational purposes, promoting creativity, personalised learning and critical thinking to enhance teaching and learning

●     Deliver workshops and training for our school community to upskill them on safe, responsible and appropriate use of technology, including AI, to enhance learning.

●     Being responsible for reviewing, implementation and monitoring impact of new technology resources and APPS.

●     Ensure that AI tools and technologies comply with school safeguarding policies and UAE data protection laws.

Requirements:

 Essential

●     Bachelor’s degree with full teaching qualifications (e.g., BEd, PGCE, QTS).

●     Minimum of 4 years relevant teaching experience.

●     Demonstrated success in leading teams to achieve strategic goals under pressure.

●     Expertise in current digital tools, pedagogy, and forward-thinking educational initiatives.

●     Commitment to raising standards and fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.

●     Skilled at using digital technologies to enrich learning in alignment with Apple Distinguished School standards. 

Desirable

●     Previous middle leadership experience.

●     Experience in delivering Professional Development and supporting staff.

●     Knowledge of implementing and adapting an enriched curriculum using digital tools.

●     Experience in leading whole-school digital strategies and initiatives.
