This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished educational leader to join our team as the Head of Primary School commencing in January 2025. This permanent full-time position is ideal for a passionate professional eager to shape the future of education and make a lasting impact on young students' lives. As a member of the College’s Executive Leadership Team, you will be crucial to our strategic direction and success.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills and educational expertise. They will be an effective communicator, able to efficiently and effectively manage the Primary school, and have the ability to make informed decisions. They will be able to build a strong sense of community and be actively involved, upholding high ethical standards and serving as role models. They will encourage innovation and creativity, embrace new ideas, and promote an inclusive, equitable environment.

Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will:

• be able to demonstrate an active involvement in a local church and a mature Christian character;
• have a strong working knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, reporting, and pastoral care;
• hold a strong understanding of current educational practice as it relates to student learning and pastoral care; 
• be able to demonstrate skills in identifying and implementing improvements and change; 
• hold highly developed leadership and management skills, including mentoring, coaching, and developing staff; 
• be able to demonstrate effective communication, decision-making, strategic thinking, and conflict-resolution skills; 
• hold strong organisational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise competing tasks to meet deadlines; 
• be able to develop and construct the Primary timetable, ensuring compatibility with the Secondary timetable and meeting Australian Curriculum time guidelines;    
• be able to manage staff absences accordingly on an as-needed basis;  
• hold relevant teaching qualifications and experience; 
• hold, or be able to obtain Queensland College of Teachers Registration;
• be able to sign and abide by the College’s Statement of Faith;
• be able to model the Staff Code of Conduct at all times;
• hold strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community; 
• be legally permitted to work in Australia.
