The Role
St Peters CE Academy are looking to recruit a HLTA to join the team. You need to be patient, hard-working and have high expectations for yourself and pupils. The post holder’s prime duties will be assisting the teacher with day-to-day work and helping to deliver learning programmes for individuals and small groups. A commitment to the life of the school is vital! School tours are encouraged. This post may involve whole class teaching to cover PPA and leadership time across the whole school.
Key Tasks
- Plan and prepare lessons with using a scheme with teachers support.
- Develop and prepare resources for learning activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to pupil need
- Deliver learning activities to pupils within agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs
- Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies.
- Work with the School’s agreed behaviour policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self-control and independence
- Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem
- Participate in the marking of pupils’ work and accurately record achievement/progress
