About St Joseph's Catholic High School

Why St. Joseph's?

In 1929, St Joseph's Catholic High School was established by parishioners to serve the town of Workington and we are very proud to be continuing to educate students across this area nearly a 100 years later.

We strive to make sure our school is a brilliant place to work for all our staff.  We are a small school and we are proud of our ‘family feel’.  Our mission is to create an environment that brings out the best in our students and staff, year after year. It's really important to us that we look after our staff to enable them to provide the best for our students and they benefit from extensive careers support and CPD opportunities, a comprehensive well-being package and access to an on-site gym. In September 2021, we became one of the founding members of the growing Mater-Christi Multi Academy Trust and this is further developing our range of staff opportunities and benefits.

St. Joseph's works to ensure that all students feel genuinely valued and respected and insists on excellent behaviour and manners at all times.

Staff and students from all faiths and none are welcome in our school.
