The Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus, which first opened its doors to 500 students in September 2022, is currently seeking passionate, experienced, and competent professionals to join our team. 

As we grow, we are in the process of planning our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site to be completed approximately by end of 2025, that will include kindergartens, elementary and high schools, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school on the cusp of a major turning point.

Now we are seeking an experienced and passionate Math Teacher to join our team, who can teach the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) mathematics, including Higher Level (HL) Mathematics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction, preparing students for mathematics competitions and Olympiads, and contributing to the overall academic excellence of our school.

 Responsibilities:

  • Teach IB Mathematics: Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Mathematics for MYP and DP students, with a particular emphasis on Higher Level (HL) Mathematics.
  • Olympiad Preparation:Identify and train talented students for national and international math Olympiads and other math competitions.
  • Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement detailed lesson plans that align with the IB MYP/DP curriculum and foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Assessment & Evaluation:Design, administer, and evaluate assessments to monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can reach their full potential.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with the Mathematics Department and other teachers to develop interdisciplinary units, projects, and activities.
  • Student Support: Provide additional support for students through extra classes, one-on-one tutoring, or mentoring as needed.
  • Extracurricular Involvement: Organize and participate in math clubs, competitions, and other extracurricular activities related to mathematics.
  • Professional Development: Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth, staying current with trends in math education, technology integration, and the IB program.


Qualifications and Experience:

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education. A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, teaching credential) is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary school level.
  • Proven experience in teaching IB MYP/DP mathematics, including HL Mathematics.
  • Experience preparing students for math Olympiads and other mathematics competitions is highly desirable.
  • IB Certification: IB training and certification in MYP/DP Mathematics (or willingness to obtain certification).

Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of the IB MYP/DP curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Proficient in using technology and digital tools to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

Working Hours: 8:00 - 16:00, full-time
