Due to continued expansion Dubai Heights Academy is seeking an experienced Inclusion Teacher to join our team.

Dubai Heights Academy is a warm and welcoming place to work. Located in the Al Barsha South area of Dubai, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational Inclusion Teacher to join our team.

The school opened in 2017. It offers an inclusive, exciting and outstanding education to an international community of students from FS1 to Year 11 and will continue to grow organically to Year 13.

The campus is state-of-the-art with separate buildings for each phase as well as a 380 seat auditorium. There are three temperature controlled swimming pools, fully equipped science and computer labs, specialist rooms for art, DT, music, and drama, a library, two multipurpose sports halls, a full size football pitch, a variety of outdoor play areas, a coffee shop and a spacious canteen. The academic year 2024-2025 will see the opening of a brand new secondary building, significantly enhancing the current facilities.

Dubai Heights Academy has an opening for a dynamic Inclusion Teacher

The successful candidate will: 

  • Have experience of working with students of determination and coordinating and delivering provision to achieve outstanding progress          
  • Have a passion to reach the young people who have struggled to engage in mainstream education settings 
  • Be able to instil in students a love of learning  
  • Value enrichment opportunities and be passionate about delivering a high quality extra-curricular programme   
  • Have the willingness to work with colleagues and reflect upon their practice   
  • Motivate the most disengaged and disadvantaged learners to believe in themselves and the power of education 
  • Insist on high standards and support and guide students to reach them      
  • Be dynamic in the classroom and able to adapt to a variety of learning styles and needs  
  • Have strong pastoral skills and experience in supporting students with behavioural, social and emotional differences  
  • Have experience in using standardised assessments and screening tools to identify barriers to learning  
  • Be able to set, support, and track progress against an Individual Education Plan and/or modified curriculum   
  • Have some experience and knowledge of alternative and augmentative curriculum frameworks (eg ASDAN, social skills and alternative therapies)  
  • Be able to coordinate and conduct Team Around the Child meetings (collaborative IEP meetings)  
  • Be confident in using learning technologies (familiarity with Clicker 7 is advantageous) to support teaching and learning              

These above-mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, the post-holder may be required to carry out other duties as required by the school management.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following: 

  • A BEd. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge          
  • At least 3 years experience of the National Curriculum for England     
  • Experience to offer inclusion support across all key stages
  • Offer a specialism such as support for EAL, ELL, Behaviour Management, Dyslexia and/or alternative curriculums
