The Role: IT Support Engineer

Are you passionate about technology and education? We are seeking to appoint a skilled IT Support Engineer to manage and enhance our technology infrastructure, supporting both staff and students in our schools. Your expertise will be key to ensuring that our community can leverage technology effectively for teaching and learning.


Key Responsibilities:


• Maintain, install, and support computer equipment and peripherals for both curriculum and administrative use.

• Install and configure a variety of software, including Apple and Microsoft applications, Adobe products, and specialized software for students with additional learning needs.

• Provide day-to-day IT support, including first and second-level support for the school’s web-based applications and educational subscriptions.

• Communicate with staff and parents, offering technical assistance either face-to-face or over the phone to resolve issues or set up systems.

• Document and test all hardware or software installations and ensure the IT inventory is up-to-date.

• Maintain a log of incidents and resolutions using the school’s IT ticketing system.

• Liaise with external contractors and equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues.

• Support school events, roadshows, and other day-to-day activities requiring technical assistance.

• Create user manuals and troubleshoot issues with IWBs, projectors, audio systems, and interactive LED panels.

• Assist with system updates, user account management, and access controls.

• Educate staff and students on best practices for technology use and security.

• Collaborate with IT team members to enhance IT systems and policies.


Skills and Experience:


• Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role, preferably in the education industry.

• Proficient in macOS and Windows environments.

• Strong knowledge of computer networks, hardware, software applications, and Microsoft 365.

• Experience with Jamf, Mosyle, or Intune MDM solutions.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, MCSE) are a plus.

• Passionate about implementing new technologies.
