We are seeking to appoint a Lead Teacher of Design Technology. Leading by example, through outstanding practice and professionalism you will have the ability to motivate students and colleagues to achieve excellence. It is an ideal role for an experienced DT teacher, looking for the next step in their career.
The role is to take responsibility for the lead of the KS4 Design Technology curriculum, while promoting and demonstrating effective pedagogy. Elements of your role will also involve supporting operational demands, ensuring compliance, monitoring, reviewing and meeting Health and Safety requirements. Students work with a variety of media in KS3 and KS4 including resistant materials and textiles. The successful candidate must be driven to make a difference, and be relentless in enabling all students to access, engage and develop a love for the subject.
As an Academy, we seek to embrace new methodologies whilst maintaining a balance with traditional practice, to bring about examination success. All students at Key Stage 3 and 4 have a 1:1 mobile device; this is an example of our commitment to use modern technology to maximise learning.
Recent development of the site has enhanced the resources available to staff and students, which includes an Immersive Classroom space.
