Reddish Vale High School are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, committed and ambitious Lead Teacher of Science to join a very strong department within our school. The successful candidate will display a real passion for learning and the teaching of their subject, with experience of teaching across KS3 and 4.

Reporting to the Head of Department for Science, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding, creative teacher with the drive, passion and commitment to join our hugely talented team of staff, working together to encourage and support every child in reaching their full potential.

Your experience and expertise will be able to promote and encourage students to thrive in their Science lessons. A commitment to your own CPD, through the development and application of innovative teaching and learning practices, will support the philosophy of the department.

As a Lead Teacher of Science at Reddish Vale High School, you will:

• Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Head of Department and Second in Department to provide professional leadership and management for Science across the School and within the Trust

• Ensure the department delivers high quality teaching, effectively using the resources available and aiming to raise standards of learning and achievement for all students

• Deliver engaging, well-structured, and differentiated lessons in line with the Science curriculum.

• Develop and adapt lesson plans and teaching resources to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring that all students are actively engaged and supported in their learning.

• Use a variety of teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and interest in science.

• Encourage a love of science and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and achievement.

• Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to enhance the learning experience.

• Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and ensure it is both relevant and inspiring.
