Learning Support Assistant - Full-time Term Time only 37 hours per week

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Merchant Taylors’ School. You will be someone who is motivated by helping others, patient and resilient. The post is term time only, 37 hours per week and offered on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2025.
You will be required to teach 1:1 and small groups of up to 10 pupils, and support the Head of Learning Support, Teachers and Senior Leadership Team. You will be responsible for providing essential support to our pupils with learning difficulties, behavioural, social and physical disabilities. You will build positive relationships with pupils to promote interaction and a constructive learning environment to support their learning needs. The position requires work to be carried outside of the classroom environment and you will have the opportunity to assist in the planning and delivery of lessons in a very creative and positive setting.

The safeguarding responsibilities of the post include:
· The provision of a safe environment in which children and young people feel heard
· Being aware of the indicators of abuse and neglect
· Ensuring vigilance in recognising changes in behaviour or mood
· Reporting safeguarding concerns in line with the School’s Safeguarding Children and Child Protection Policy
· Attending Safeguarding training and updates as requested by the School
The duties of this role meet the definition of regulated activity relevant to children and an enhanced DBS check with children’s barred list is appropriate.
