Job overview

Since its opening in 2003 as the second 11–19 school in the now six-strong Emmanuel Schools Foundation, The King’s Academy has made exceptional provision for students in south Middlesbrough. Our vision is for each person in our schools to be valued, challenged and inspired, being ‘made in God’s image’ and therefore infinitely precious, morally responsible and gifted for a purpose.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our SEND team and help deliver an even better service to the staff and students.

In this role, you will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for students and to assist the teacher in the management of students and the classroom.

You will be expected to act with honesty and integrity and uphold the Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants in order to make the education of pupils your first concern. You will demonstrate values and behaviours consistent with your professional role.

We have high expectations for our students as they grow and develop, and all our staff provide important role models to them in terms of positive attitude, work ethic and diligence.

This is a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2025 where you will work Monday to Friday, 8.20am to 3.40pm (32.5 hours per week), term time plus 5 days.

If you believe you have the vision and commitment to work in an Academy which seeks to raise achievement, setting consistently high standards for yourself and for your students, please do contact us.
