Job overview

We are seeking to employ a conscientious and skilled level 3 Learning Support Assistant to support students in our school on either a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

Required 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday, over 39 weeks per year working 8.15a.m. until 3.15p.m. Please note part time will be considered, and we can be flexible on the times.

You will have:

  • sound mathematics and literacy skills (GCSE grade C or equivalent is essential in mathematics and English);
  • experience of working with children in the learning environment;
  • the ability to use your own initiative and work as part of a team;

Stour Valley Community School is a co-educational secondary school for pupils aged 11-16, located in Clare, near Sudbury in Suffolk.

Stour Valley Community School first opened in 2011, as one of the UK’s first free schools. Founded by local parents who felt that a new secondary school was needed in the area, Stour Valley was built on the site of an old middle school. Smaller than the average secondary school, Stour Valley boasts an array of modern facilities.
