Together with deep academic rigour, we strive to lay the foundation of a lifelong love of learning, and it is important to us that children enjoy being here and look forward to coming to school. Our non-uniform parkland campus, in which staff and pupils alike are addressed on a first-name basis, cultivates an atmosphere in which our pupils can explore their curiosity, individuality and style with taste and discretion.

We seek a Learning Support Assistant with experience of EAL to work across KS2 and KS3.

We are looking for someone with:

  •  ·         A passion for educating, inspiring and understanding children and teenagers.
  • ·         A belief that every pupil can succeed beyond their expectations.
  • ·         A love of learning and a commitment to continued professional development.

  • ·         A desire to participate actively in the life of a busy and ambitious school.
  • ·         A sense of adventure as well as a sense of humour; and
  • ·         An interest in the peoples, cultures and languages of the world.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils with English as a second language across KS2 and KS3. Experience in supporting interventions in Maths for KS2 and KS3 would be advantageous. The role will report to the SENDCO.

The postholder will also be expected to:

  •  ·         Provide practical support within the classroom to allow learners for whom English is an additional language to reach their full potential.
  • ·         Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with peers and support interaction between them.
  • ·         Develop knowledge of the needs of the pupil(s) and seek advice from the SENDCO, class teacher and outside agencies as required.
  • ·         Aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
  • ·         Organise and maintain an inclusive learning environment across the whole school environment.
  • ·         Other reasonable duties as directed by the SENDCO and Senior Leadership team.
