Job overview
The role
We’re looking for an inspiring and innovative lecturer to contribute to the development and delivery of BTEC Uniformed Protective Services and related qualifications at KGV College and Southport College.
Introduced in 2022, the Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services BTEC is a very popular course for our local school leavers, and currently has a full cohort in both year 1 and year 2. The course has excellent industry links with Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue and the RNLI. Students on this programme benefit from a wide range of trips, visits and enrichment opportunities. The College has a dedicated crime scene room, an incident room and a sports hall, fitness suite and drill hall.
You'll teach across a variety of programmes from Level 2 through to Level 3 in Uniformed Protective Services, as well as related qualifications and intermediate and advanced apprenticeships. You'll also help to develop the curriculum and grow our subject provision, driving key improvements in this area.
Teaching hours may be at either of the Southport Education Group’s two sites, KGV Sixth Form College (Scarisbrick New Road) and Southport College (Mornington Road).
About you
You'll be a self-motivated, enthusiastic and personable individual, who can inspire and engage our students in this subject. You’ll be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and will possess previous teaching experience. Additional experience of working with 16–19-year-olds in Uniformed Protective Services related activities or learning is also essential.
