About Concord Junior Academy
The secondary academies within Brigantia Learning Trust are over-subscribed and demand for places is high. As a growing local Academy Trust we regularly advertise for both teaching and support staff and are proud of the opportunities and career progression we are able to offer our staff.
High expectations and aspirations underpin the Concord experience. A two-form entry academy based in the heart of our community, we reap the rewards of a smaller setting; where every pupil is known as an individual, but benefit from the opportunities of a larger academy, working in partnership with our linked infant school Wincobank to provide every pupil with a smooth transition and a wealth of opportunities beyond the classroom to raise ambitions, develop passions and create memorable experiences.
Our vision is for an outstanding education for every child, delivered with a setting which puts the child at the centre of all that we do, and ensuring they are safe and happy. This is achieved by a programme of practical and first-hand experiences to enrich and enhance the highest quality teaching and learning, all of which is based on a sound knowledge and understanding of each child’s needs, to provide a stimulating environment that nurtures and challenges every child. A Concord education is tailored to every child, where individual talents and abilities are cherished and cultivated.
An Ofsted monitoring visit to Concord Junior School has praised leaders for taking ‘effective action’ towards raising the school’s standards and improving outcomes for pupils, in order for the academy to become a good school. Governors and senior leaders across the academy and Trust are delighted with the confirmation and welcome the feedback from the report. Senior leaders across the Brigantia Learning Trust and the academy are relentless in their drive to provide the highest quality education and experiences for pupils, to secure the very best outcomes.
In order to enhance the experience for every pupil, we work in strong partnership with our parents and the local community, and our whole academy Thrive approach ensures pupil’s emotional wellbeing, happiness and social development are at the top of the agenda.
Our staff are our greatest asset. Specialists in their field; warm and welcoming, they enrich our outstanding facilities to ensure an outstanding learning experience for every child. We are proud members of the Brigantia Learning Trust and are dedicated to achieving our shared mission: Creating Excellence Together. As the first 2-19 academy trust in Sheffield, our pupils benefit from a seamless transition between phases, always ready for the next stage of their educational journey.
Every child’s success at Concord is celebrated; and our community, supported by our committed Trustees and team of dedicated staff contribute to this. We feel immensely proud to be leaders here, and hope that the website offers you an insight into life at Concord Junior School.
Kelly Howes, Executive Principal Wincobank and Concord Academies
