At Cranbourne “The Headteacher’s excellent leadership is ably supported by the deputy, the staff team and the governors.” Ofsted 2009

“Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent (and)...pupils make an extremely positive contribution to the school and wider community” Ofsted 2009

Cranbourne is a two form entry primary school set in the Hundred Acre estate about a mile from the centre of Hoddesdon.

Our buildings are spacious and well maintained, with large classrooms, two halls and a library. We have two ICT suites each with 32 computers. Our purpose built nursery provides a welcoming and stimulating environment for our youngest pupils.

We make full use of our very extensive grounds. We have four playgrounds, a fitness trail for the older children and play/climbing area for the younger ones, a woodland area, quiet areas, picnic benches, an amphitheatre and a large enough field to cater for several football pitches, rounders pitches and running tracks depending upon the season.

Our Foundation Stage has been awarded the Herts Quality Standard. We are accredited as a Healthy School and we were awarded the Active Mark for 2008.

We are proud of the welcoming and friendly atmosphere within our school. It is a school where every child really matters and every family is made to feel part of our community. We are committed to developing each child's potential by encouraging questioning minds and a love of learning in a happy, safe, stimulating environment.

We aim to promote an ethos that encourages independence and responsibility in an inspiring, caring atmosphere where eveyone feels valued.

We aim to give children the skills that they will need in their future lives and to nurture well rounded individuals who care for each other and their surroundings.

Above all we aim to give the children a primary school experience that they will never forget.
