Local Board Members work with Academy Leadership to improve schools and maintain high standards of education and support. The Minute Clerk will help Local Board Members across the four schools within JCAT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting Attendance: Attend all Governor meetings and accurately record minutes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Governance Lead to ensure seamless coordination of governance activities.
  • Document Preparation: Assist in the preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and relevant documents.
  • Records Maintenance: Help maintain accurate records of all governance activities, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

Why Join Us?

At JCAT, you will be part of an organisation that values collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. If you are passionate about governance and making a positive impact in the education sector, we encourage you to apply.

Note:

The Jewish Community Academy Trust (JCAT) is currently seeking to fill key governance roles within the Trust. We are looking for either a single Governance Professional or, alternatively, a Governance Lead and a Minute Clerk. To provide clarity and accommodate varying levels of experience and availability, we have posted three separate job adverts detailing the responsibilities and requirements for each role. We encourage candidates to review all three adverts and apply for the position that best matches their skills and career aspirations.

JCAT is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate will be required for all posts. This post will be subject to enhanced checks as part of our safeguarding and Prevent Duty including social media checks

Dear Colleague

Thank you for expressing an interest in applying for a post with the Jewish Community Academy Trust.

JCAT is modern and centrist Orthodox in outlook, under the religious authority of the Chief Rabbi, providing an immersive Jewish experience and education for all students, tailored to the specific needs of each of its academies. It is a centre of educational excellence, developing well-rounded students committed to a life of Torah, Jewish values and to the State of Israel, who have a strong commitment to Britain and British values. We intend our pupils to make a meaningful contribution to the Jewish community, Israel and wider society. JCAT is creating  a nurturing cohort of schools keen  to  develop and challenge its  students to learn and grow.

There are four Primary schools within the Trust – two 2-form entry schools (Wolfson-Hillel in Southgate and Hertsmere in Radlett) and two 1-form entry schools in Barnet (Rimon and Sacks Morasha.) We have one Outstanding School, two designated Good and one awaiting re-inspection. In terms of section 48 inspections, two of the schools are outstanding and two are good. There are around 190 teaching and support staff, 1250 pupils and a small executive team, based in Wolfson-Hillel, led by myself.

JCAT represents a vibrant community of colleagues, always keen to move on and innovate with the latest approaches based on secure research. I have a weekly business meeting with Headteachers via Teams and there is a monthly meeting where we discuss matters of more moment and share ideas and issues.

I do hope you will follow up your initial interest and I am happy to reply to any additional queries.

Warm regards

Gareth Jones

JCAT CEO
