We are now recruiting for an On-Site Provision Assistant to support our students within the Alternative Provision Unit on our Campus. The Unit is to support students who find the school system challenging, including those anxiety-based school refusers and / or those who struggle to regulate emotions and behaviour within the school. The successful candidate will have experience working with students and an understanding of young peoples’ social, emotional and educational development needs. They will need to demonstrate a patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach and have the ability to form positive relationships to support students with their challenging behaviour and learning needs.
Main duties and responsibilities
• To work as part of a team to support students to engage positively in their learning, as a listening ear and supporting adult.
• Supervising students in a working environment in On Site Provision (OSP)
• To do the support work with the students as outlined in their pastoral support plans.
• Administer baseline testing to identify need and measure progress
• Deliver small group programme delivery of literacy / numeracy or social skills programmes
• Monitoring and marking students work while in OSP ensuring it is completed to a good standard
• Day to day administration tasks include registering students, completing daily review cards.
• Supporting students to engage back in lessons, using top tips, pen portraits and identifying positive strategies
• Communicating with parents as needed
• Any other tasks as reasonably directed by the Inclusion Leader or SMT
