We are now recruiting for an On Site Provision Inclusion Leader to lead the day to day operation of the Alternative Provision Unit on our Campus. The Unit is to support students who find the school system challenging, including those anxiety-based school refusers and / or those who struggle to regulate emotions and behaviour within the school. The successful candidate will have experience working with students identifying learning needs and barriers to behaviours.  They will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to work in partnership with students, parents, staff, and external agencies.

Main duties and responsibilities

Provide a welcoming environment to those students within the On Site Provision (OSP)

• Supervising students in a working environment

• To manage all OSP admissions including baseline testing and review of those in the OSP to support the identification of need, and review progress

• To develop effective short term and long term packages of support and intervention to students within the AP and as they transition back to mainstream lessons

• To contribute to the programmes of study such as delivering forest school, Princes Trust or equivalent programmes or literacy / numeracy programmes

• To develop a way to track and review progress daily and over time showing the impact of interventions both to the student, parents and leaders

• Evaluate the interventions for each student and keep record of impact, contributing to their PSP (Pastoral Support Plans)

• Contribute to pastoral and reasonable adjustment support plan meetings and follow-up work, including advice to staff as student transition back into mainstream lessons

• To provide effective and efficient pastoral support to promote positive attitudes to learning and behaviour, through a trauma informed approach

• To manage challenging behaviour of individual students if necessary

• To work alongside a team of staff who provide particular and skilled support in the areas of mentoring, target setting, holding review meetings, lesson visits, group work and liaison with parents, staff and outside agencies

• Day to day administration tasks include registering students, and sending electronic correspondence to parents

• Communicating daily with parents / carers of students within the OSP unit

• To work with partner school AP and ACE Schools to promote better practice through training

• To ensure safe working practices for students and staff within the OSP provision

• Any other tasks as reasonably directed by the Senior Leader responsible for behaviour

• Engage with the SENCO and SEND Team to ensure the planned provision is up to date for students, and make suggestions / additions to the pen portraits.
