Overview

Due to our continuous growth and success; we’re progressing from a three region group structure to four. As a result we’re currently looking for an additional Operations Director to manage our current and future service provisions in our newly formed Midlands region.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Key to this role will be your ability to support our education/care services with operational support which leads to the highest quality outcomes.   Having quality and governance input and oversight, ensuring we deliver good or better services to our children and young people, whilst driving a values based culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of attainment for the children/adults in our care and the teams that support them.

Taking responsibility for the effective safeguarding, education, care, H&S and clinical practice across our services in the Midlands; your role will focus on enabling and supporting sites to achieve the highest possible levels of satisfaction with our children and young adults, colleagues, regulators, local authorities, CCG’s and parents.

To be effective in this role you’ll need to establish trust based relationships with both site and Group leadership to ensure the effective delivery of the group strategy and to develop and maintain the high quality practices.

 

Amongst a wide range of accountability you’ll play a key role in: 

  • Developing high performing, autonomous school leaders
  • Leading schools, colleges and homes to achieve good or better, providing operational support and guidance 
  • Monitoring, supporting and challenging site strategy and development plans
  • Developing and monitoring high quality standards of group practice and compliance
  • Ensuring that the budgets of each service are appropriately set and achieved each year
  • Contributing to the strategic development and growth of the group


 Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: 

  • Values which reflect The Aurora Groups culture and ethos
  • Successful track record at senior management level in Education and leadership roles across multi-disciplinary teams and sites
  • Detailed knowledge of the legislative and regulatory requirements for Children’s and Adult Services establishments
  • Up to date knowledge of curriculum and pedological approaches
  • Detailed knowledge understanding and ability to attain and retain Outstanding Ofsted/CQC ratings
  • Experience of working with and providing successful outcomes and development for individuals with learning disabilities, Autism, and/or SEMH profiles
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholder relationships including collaborating with local Authorities, Commissioners, families, internal and other stakeholders
  • Experience of effectively managing projects, change and delivering service improvements within budget
  • Excellent communication, networking, influencing, interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Sound knowledge of commercial and financial/budget/resource management
  • The ability to make excellent decision making skills, work proactively, plan, organise, optimise resources and complete targets within agreed timescales
  • Problem solving skills sufficient to resolve complex matters often with conflicting requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate effective people management skills through delegating, empowering, motivating, and coaching managers and staff
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
