Role Overview:
- Employer: PRISM Youth Project (Independent school for ages 11-19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health issues and Mild Learning Disabilities)
- Salary: £34,834 - £36,648 (pro-rata)
- Hours: 37 hours/week, term-time only
- Training: Includes support towards Qualified Teacher Status
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English.
- Tailor approaches with SENCO for individual student needs.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Prepare and deliver innovative lessons, group activities, and 1:1 sessions.
- Monitor and document learner progression.
- Manage student behaviour and ensure safety (including on-site animals).
- Liaise with parents, external agencies, and attend meetings.
- Engage in community-based and occasional residential activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 months’ experience working with young people in similar settings.
- Energetic, patient, flexible, empathetic, and capable of building relationships.
- Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo Enhanced DBS checks.
