Buckswood School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for physical education and a commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging PE lessons, supervising games sessions, and contributing to the overall development of our sports programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging PE lessons for GCSE and A-level students.
• Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.

Games Sessions Supervision:

• Supervise and lead Games sessions for students across various year groups.
• Supervise and lead extracurricular sports activities and school teams, where required.
• Ensure all sports equipment and facilities are used safely and effectively.

Assessment and Reporting:

• Assess students' progress and provide feedback to help them improve.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ performance and attendance.
• Prepare and submit reports on students' progress as required.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with colleagues to plan and coordinate the PE curriculum and Games sessions.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding students’ progress and well-being.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of PE programs.

Health and Safety:

• Ensure the health and safety of students during PE lessons and Games sessions.
• Conduct risk assessments and follow school policies and procedures related to safety.

Professional Development:

• Stay updated with current trends and developments in physical education.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in teaching PE at GCSE and A-level.
• Strong knowledge of various sports and physical activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage students in physical education.
• Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a school setting.
