A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced, inspiring and passionate Peripatetic Cello Teacher to join our brilliant music department at Upton House School.

A little bit about us

We are a small independent school in Windsor. The school has been running since 1936. We value each and every member of our staff team and recognise that people can bring different ideas and suggestions all of which are equally valued. We view our team members as our extended family and most of our staff have worked with the school for many years.

 

Responsibilities

 

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced cello teacher with a proven track record to join our Music Department and provide high quality tuition in cello lessons to our pupils.

Each lesson is 30mins long and pupils have lessons once a week and should receive 30 lessons a year.

Should the position be made permanent in September there will also be the opportunity to assist in the school orchestra. The school has plenty of opportunities for the pupils to perform what they have learnt with music led assemblies, music soirees and school functions.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate for this role would have:

·      Previous experience of teaching cello to children from age 5 to 11

·      Experience of working with an orchestra would be a bonus

·      Excellent communication skills

·      Able to work as part of a team and use your own initiative

·      Commitment to your role and being an inspiration

·      Have a fun, can do attitude

·      A willingness to meet challenges with enthusiasm and to contribute as a team member is essential

Upton House School is a independent co-educational preparatory school in Windsor, Berkshire. The school was first opened in 1936, and is located on a one acre site in the centre of Windsor. In 2008 the two-storey facility Little Upton was opened, containing pre-nursery and nursery rooms with access to an outdoor play area. There are approximately 295 students on the school roll. Upton House is denominationally Christian, and is a registered charity.
