Job overview

Are you a highly organised and proactive professional with exceptional administrative skill, who would like to commit to fostering a positive environment of inclusive education? If yes, Hatton Special School, an outstanding school with an unwavering dedication to empowering students with special needs, is seeking a dynamic and efficient Personal Assistant to work closely supporting our Headteacher and senior leadership team.

In this crucial role, you will be key in enabling our school leadership team to focus on their mission—creating a nurturing and exceptional learning environment that allows every pupil to reach their full potential.

Hatton is a large primary special school in the London Borough of Redbridge (outer London). Our pupils are aged 3-11 with a range of complex needs including autism, social communication difficulties, downs syndrome and other learning difficulties. The School was graded as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in November 2018. Although our staff are amazing and have developed some fantastic practices in working with our pupils, we do not sit back. We are continually striving to further develop the learning opportunities we provide for our pupils.

At Hatton Special School, you will become part of a dedicated team making a profound impact on the lives of our students. This role presents an exceptionally rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive environment, featuring ample avenues for professional development and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the success of a vibrant and diverse school community.

Hatton staff have access to:

•              A carefully selected ‘Peer-buddy’ to support them when starting with us

•              A commitment to ongoing professional development

•              A well-resourced school

•              Supportive and enthusiastic colleagues and governors

•              Staff social events

•              Well-being support

If you are eager to support a passionate Headteacher in leading an extraordinary school, we would love to hear from you! Please take a moment to review our recruitment pack and apply!

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This includes the need to become familiar with school policies immediately upon appointment and to follow the school’s procedures in relation to safeguarding.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages. The school is committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.

Offers of employment are subject to an enhanced DBS Certificate and other employment checks. References will be requested for those short listed ONLY and prior to interview.
