Myanmar International School is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced, creative and dynamic leader of the highest quality. The Primary Principal will play a pivotal role in the strategic ongoing development of MIS as a member of the senior leadership team. We are looking to recruit a candidate with tremendous drive and enthusiasm to build on the firm foundations already established in our school.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an exceptional ability to lead a team and gain the best possible level of performance from every pupil and teacher. A key part of the role is to achieve the highest standards of teaching and learning with a focus on both the academic and personal development of our students.
We are seeking a professional who:
- Is UK-trained or has relevant UK curriculum experience.
- Possesses visionary leadership skills, with a proven track record of real gravitas, positivity and presence within a school community.
- Can demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum and has experience of leading curriculum innovation and development.
- Can lead the planning and development of the Primary school and take charge of its day-to-day operations.
- Has a proven track record of outstanding teaching and leading successfully at Primary level.
- Can foster a culture of high standards that aims to bring out the best in every member of the school.
- Can ensure the Primary school is properly staffed with the highest possible calibre professionals.
- Can successfully lead the Primary school through future WASC inspections.
- Has good interpersonal skills and can establish and sustain effective, positive working relationships with all staff, pupils, parents and the local community.

Founded in 2009, Myanmar International School educates girls and boys aged between three and 18. It is an all-through, independent, mainstream school, with a sixth form. At the moment, there are around 300 children on the roll at the school and approximately 40 members of staff. It is based in Yankin, Yangon, in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The board of directors of Than Lwin Aye Yar Services Co. Ltd opened the school. The school crest is blue, white and red to represent most of the flags around the world.

Myanmar International School’s curriculum is split into two categories. The primary stage is taught through the British National Curriculum. The secondary stage is taught through the Cambridge international curriculum. The curriculum is well-balanced and enriching for all of the pupils. Teachers and students are encouraged to work together, in a respectful manner, to reach outstanding academic results. The school views itself as a family and the children and parents who are a part of it are expected to be proud of the establishment they are getting an education from.
The school hopes to help all students develop the skills needed to work, live and evolve in the ever changing, modern world. Children are taught to be kind, tolerant and respectful of those in the diverse society they live in. Pupils are encouraged to have a positive outlook on their academic and personal life.
