  • To set up the classroom, organising displays and equipment.
  • To encourage children to work together or independently to achieve goals.
  • To provide help and support to individual pupils as required, taking responsibility for their academic progress.

  • To complete administrative work. E.g., taking registers, updating records, marking work and writing reports.
  • To create a tidy learning environment that pupils respect.
  • To use positive management of behaviour in an environment of mutual respect that allows students to feel safe and secure and promotes their self-esteem.

  • To organise educational visits, after school clubs, social activities and sports events.
  • To participate in training and development activities.
  • To attend meetings and parent’s evenings.
  • To liaise with senior leadership, parents and external bodies in relation to progress, behaviour, child protection and health.
  • To be a role model for students through personal presentation and professional conduct;
  • To be punctual to all classes, ensuring lessons start on time.
  • To establish effective working relationships with all members of the school community.
