Job Overview:
Primary Year Group Leader (Curriculum & Assessment) (Academic Year 25/26 starting)
(Teaching License or PGCE/QTS required)
Bangkok Patana School seeks a qualified and experienced Year Group Leader (Curriculum & Assessment) to join our vibrant and high performing Primary School.
The Role
In each Year Group, there are 2 Year Group leaders: one overseeing Pastoral matters and the other Curriculum & Assessment. The Year Group leaders are integral to maintaining high teaching standards and student well-being at Year Group level. Shared responsibilities include full class teaching, prioritising student learning and welfare, fostering teamwork, and championing home-school partnerships.
The role and remit for the Year Group leader (Curriculum & Assessment) spans all aspects of curriculum and assessment within the year. It involves implementing and monitoring the Primary school curriculum, ensuring alignment with standards, objectives, and student needs. The assessment aspect of the post entails monitoring student progress, implementing effective formative and summative strategies, overseeing assessment processes, as well as tracking and analysing data.
Both leaders collaborate with the Primary Leadership Team (PLT) and other Year Group leaders, emphasising collegiality, consistency, and continuous school improvement.
Is this a good fit for you?
The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of qualities that align with the dynamic nature of this middle leadership role in an 8-form entry Primary school.
Above all, you will love working with children, be committed to securing high quality teaching and learning, establishing positive relationships and exhibit a genuine, warm and open approach. You will have at least 5 years full time class teaching experience, ideally with the British curriculum, and at least 2 years of middle leadership experience within a large school setting.
