About The British School of Amsterdam

The British School of Amsterdam is a not-for-profit international school providing world-class teaching and learning for children from 3 to 18 years old. Since its inception in 1978, we have grown quickly to become a leading British international school offering quality education to over 1,100 pupils enrolled at the school across three sections: Early Years (3-6 years), Juniors (6-11 years) and Seniors (11-18 years).

At The British School of Amsterdam we follow the British Schools curriculum and we are, proudly, a non-selective school with high expectations of all pupils.  As a school, we seek to develop inquiring, imaginative, fascinated, knowledgeable and caring young people with an eagerness for knowledge and a sense of value.

We offer the best in British education to our students, and a welcoming and inclusive work environment for more than 210 staff members. Our staff are the school's greatest asset; they are professional, caring, committed and work together, whatever their role, to provide the best possible education for the children in our care.

We are accredited by the UK Government as a British School Overseas (BSO) offering the National Curriculum for England leading to GCSEs and A-Levels, and we are also proud members of COBIS (Council of British International Schools), HMC (The Head's Conference), and AoBSO (Association of British Schools Overseas).

In a recent BSO inspection report, the school was described as “… providing high quality education, much of which is outstanding”.
