The Paragon School, Bath is seeking to appoint a Receptionist to work term time only for 25 hours per week. This is an important role in the life of the school, acting as the first point of contact for parents and other visitors, and as such must provide an exceptionally professional and friendly service over the telephone, on email and in direct contact and in line with our safeguarding procedures.

The Receptionist requires strong administrative skills and will have day to day responsibility for shared work priorities and maintenance of high standards. The pattern of working will be for 5 hours per day from either 8:00am – 1:00pm or 12:30pm – 5.30pm, in a job-share capacity.

Must be a First Aid holder or willingness to learn.

The Paragon is an independent, co-educational day school based in a beautiful Georgian house a mile from the centre of Bath. Catering for more than 250 children aged three to 11, we offer a broad curriculum taught in small classes by teachers with a real passion for their subject. The school comprises Squirrels Pre-School, a Pre-Prep and Prep School. The Paragon is the junior school of Prior Park College and part of the Prior Park Schools family which also includes Prior Park School in Gibraltar.

We offer excellent and supportive working conditions with an attractive rewards package to include free lunch and free onsite parking plus use of onsite gym at Prior Park College.

The Schools’ Mission is to steward a thriving family of communities with love for the young people they serve at their heart. These vibrant communities cultivate creativity, foster integrity, and transform lives.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

The successful applicant will be able to join the school in January 2025 and once the vetting process has been completed.
