Grade 12 – Scp 36 – 39 (£48,531 - £50574)

Full Time - 36 hours per week 8am – 4pm, 52 weeks per year

Smitham Primary School is looking for a new School Business Manager. We wish to appoint an experienced individual, who has an in depth understanding and knowledge of strategic and financial management.

We are a large primary school on an extensive site, having recently been expanded from 2 to 3 forms of entry. Our provision is exceptional, with wonderful learning spaces, both indoors and out. We are a thriving community, with welcoming, hard-working staff and governors, fabulous children and supportive parents.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a large school community, relishes a ‘hands-on’ approach and achieves outcomes with close attention to the school’s strategic vision and priorities.

The School Business Manager will work in partnership with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, Site Manager, Office staff, IT provider and the Governing Board. They will have key responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Financial Resource Management, Leadership and Strategy
  • Human Resources
  • Administration and Compliance
  • Data Protection and Systems
  • Health and Safety
  • Premises and Infrastructure
  • Communication and Management Information Systems

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to demonstrate excellent skills in leadership and strategic management
  • Be confident in accepting responsibility and working independently as well as collaboratively with other staff
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Keen to be part of a highly ambitious and ever improving school
