William Ellis School is a thriving, voluntary aided, non-denominational, inclusive comprehensive boys’ school serving the educational needs of boys from the ages of 11 to 18. About the role
We are currently looking for a School Librarian who is motivated and enthusiastic and will be able to develop the school library to its full potential. You will be reporting to the Assistant Headteacher and your key responsibilities will be:
· Maintain and organise the school library’s collection of books, digital resources and other materials
· Assist students and staff in locating resources, offering guidance on reading materials and research projects
· Maintain and up-to-date inventory of resources, ensuring the library is stocked with contemporary, relevant and diverse materials
· Organise engaging whole-school literacy initiatives like author talks, world book day and reading for pleasure activities
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
· Experience and knowledge about the library process and have knowledge of IT systems
· Excellent organisational skills, and an ability to manage concurrent tasks in a demand-led environment with a positive attitude and a flexible approach
