Job Title: School Nurse

Location: Bramfield House School, Halesworth

Salary:    Up to £28,000 per annum

Hours:    37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8:15am - 4pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a School Nurse to join our close-knit team at Bramfield House School located in Halesworth.

Job purpose

To manage the health, emotional well-being, learning and personal development of all pupils through the use of research-based practice, to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate school medical interventions, considering the referral criteria, individual medical needs and personal care plans.** 

General Responsibilities

 

The School Nurse will:

 

  • Provide first-aid across the school
  • Administer medication to pupils
  • Support young person when needed with Type 1 Diabetes; administering insulin
  • Support young person when needed with Anaphylaxis 
  • Develop care plans for students with ongoing conditions
  • Contribute to care and learning by undertaking in screening and assessment and participate in reviews
  • Liaise with health, therapy and other professional services regarding student care
  • Arrange for pupils to attend all health appointments as necessary
  • Ensure all medication is obtained, recorded, administered and if required disposed of in accordance with school policies
  • Monitor student immunisation records and maintain accurate medical records
  • Promote health education and awareness to students and staff throughout the school to improve the health and emotional well-being of all pupils
  • Deliver group interventions around mental health, person hygiene and basic first aid
  • Assist with the delivery of PSHE, RSE and sexual health for learners  
  • Manage and maintain first aid kits and defibrillators
