We are seeking an experienced Science Lab Technician to join the science technician team to support the teaching of all aspects of the Science curriculum at all key stages.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of the Science Department to ensure that full support is given to the Science Department. This will include ensuring that the science lessons are equipped with the necessary equipment, apparatus, chemicals, animal organs etc. as required by the science team.

Applicants should have experience of working with laboratory apparatus and chemicals etc. They should have the ability to work well under pressure and use their own initiative. The role may include carrying out health and safety checks on storage areas; carrying out tests on equipment within the science department; being aware of risk assessments that may need to be carried out for practical experiments, technician working procedures including the use and storage of hazardous materials; being aware of the COSHH guidelines; have a good standard of education including GCSE in Science, English and Maths (or equivalent); strong IT skills; excellent interpersonal skills (in order to relate to and engage with people at all levels including students, parents, teachers and support staff.)

Park Academy West London is a new school for a new age, an 11-19 academy, based in Hillingdon Middlesex who joined Aspirations Academies Trust, from 1st September 2017.

Park Academy West London has a close working relationship with the Aspiration Academies Trust’s other academies in London. These are Rivers Academy West London, which was judged ‘Good’ in its recent Ofsted report, Space Studio West London, which specialises in space, aerospace, science and maths and, in the primary sector, Oriel Academy and Oak Hill Academy.
