Core Responsibilities:

-Curriculum Innovation: Lead the integration of Citizens School’s entrepreneurial and inquiry-based curriculum within the secondary science department, ensuring alignment with both the British and International Baccalaureate curricula.

-Inquiry-Based Learning: Foster a learning environment that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving, utilizing hands-on resources like rooftop greenhouses to link scientific concepts to real-world applications.

-Project-Based Learning (PBL): Support transdisciplinary projects that combine the British curriculum with inquiry-based approaches, preparing learners to tackle real-world challenges.

-Individualized Support: Build strong relationships with learners, providing personalized guidance to support their academic and personal growth.

-Team Leadership: Inspire and collaborate with science mentors, ensuring a cohesive and high-performing team that delivers high-quality science education.

Qualifications and Experience:

·Science specialist with expertise in at least one of Physics, Chemistry, or Biology. 

·Proven experience in iGCSEs, delivering project-based and inquiry-driven science education, ideally within the British or International Baccalaureate curriculum. 

·Passion for linking classroom learning to real-world applications, creating a hands-on approach to science education. 

·Strong commitment to personalized learning experiences and cultivating an inclusive learning environment. 

·Strong academic qualifications in a related field; Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. 

·Valid teaching credential with a minimum of five years of teaching experience. 

·Excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills. 

·Ability to work independently while safeguarding confidential information. 

·Sensitivity to the diverse needs of all students. 

·Proficient in IT for productivity and facilitating learning in the classroom.
