Tes is supporting the appointment of a Science Teacher to join a School based in Surrey.

Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum FTE plus £2000 Welcome Bonus*

*Welcome Bonus available paid as £1,000 after 1 month and a further £1,000 in when successfully passing probation (month 6)*

Hours: Flexible - will consider full or part time 

Contract: Permanent; Term Time only

Are you a Science Teacher committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people? They are looking for an outstanding Science Teacher to join the School.

As Science Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils’ achievement and ability to develop.

Purpose of Job

  • To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher/ Senior Lead for curriculum and learning.
  • To teach a range of skills and techniques as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s Science curriculum.
  • Support the development of the Science provision that has a whole school impact.

Have knowledge and understanding of:

  • Strategies that relate to the education and personal development of SEN pupils including effective behaviour management techniques and opportunities to praise and reward.
  • Implementing a school’s vision, aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies and action plans in relation to classroom practise.
  • Statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ attainment and progress.
  • The characteristics of high-quality teaching and learning as well as strategies to improve and sustain high standards of teaching and learning leading to achievement for all pupils.
  • The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning.

​Educated to Post Graduate Cert Ed/QTS level, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.

The School is located in the stunning market town on the south bank of the Thames in the borough of Surrey. It forms part of the Greater London built up area and is served by a wide range of transport routes to school, making it easily accessible. Their new specialist school will cater for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs.
