Our Science department is a vibrant mix of specialisms and experience; a place where everyone is supported to grow and thrive at all career stages. Our team includes a Head of Department, Second in Department, an Aspiring Leader in Science, 6 teachers and 2 one-to-one tutors. We are fortunate to be supported by 2 incredible Science technicians who are on hand to reinforce teaching and learning by bringing practical Science to life.
Every teacher has a fully equipped lab to teach from that they can make their own and our schemes of work are fully resourced so teachers can focus on adapting their teaching to the needs of their students. We work hard to be inclusive and truly believe that all students are capable of succeeding.

This is a permanent Outwood Academy Hemsworth appointment. Subject to curriculum demand at the point of employment starting, it may be necessary for the successful candidate to undertake a short spell of teaching in a neighbouring Outwood academy until a suitable vacancy arises.

In 2021 we completed a new multi-million pound development, the highlight of which was a new 17 classroom teaching block which is home to music and drama rooms, art rooms, a main hall and a dining room.
