There is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified person to play a crucial role in the daily operations of our Science Department.


The post is required from November 2024 for 37 hours per week for 44.6 paid weeks per year. The salary will be pro rata to £23,106 for a full-time appointment. In addition, the school also runs a bonus payment scheme linked to appraisal and Benenden Healthcare is provided for any staff wanting to take up the opportunity.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day provision of practical equipment and resources for Science lessons, ensuring that proper health and safety procedures are being observed. In addition, the Science Technician will be responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of Science laboratories used for lessons.There is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified person to play a crucial role in the operations of our school. The post holder will supervise entire classes during the absence of a teacher and ensure that the teacher’s lesson instructions are followed.

About The Harvey Grammar School

The Harvey Grammar School is an all boys, selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in Kent, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Folkestone has approximately 903 students on record. 

The Harvey Grammar School was founded in 1674. The school converted to academy status in 2012 and in 2016, it was identified as outstanding by Ofsted. A new 12 class teaching block opened in 2015.
