We are seeking a Science Technician to provide vital support for the provision of practical elements of learning from Key Stage 3, in all 3 Science subjects, through to ‘A’ Level.
The duties will include preparation of materials, equipment and chemicals for lessons, mounting and displaying work, maintenance of relevant machinery and equipment, constructing science apparatus and stock control.
This is a varied role and would suit someone with laboratory experience and who is looking to develop their career as a technician. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
The role is term-time only, 37 hours per week plus 10 additional days. There is the opportunity for flexible working hours, depending on skills and experience.

The successful candidate will:
- Practical skills in all three Science disciplines from KS3 to ‘A’ Level
- Excellent ICT skills
- Preferably 'A' level qualifications or equivalent in the Sciences
- Preferably have experience working in a school or professional laboratory
- Have Health and Safety experience and training
- Be able to work independently, as part of an effective team, show commitment and enthusiasm
- Enjoy working with students and teaching professionals
- Be prepared to develop their skills, undergo professional development.

Allerton Grange is a large and rapidly improving school, where students of all backgrounds and abilities are happy and make positive progress. We currently have 1700 students, with an intake of 300 students each year in Year 7.
We have an impressive school building, with a newly opened Sixth Form Centre, housing our diverse community of 260 post-16 students. Allerton Grange is located 4 miles from Leeds City Centre in an attractive area of privately owned residential properties.
