We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Secondary Art Teacher with a strong background in teaching IGCSE . The successful candidate will inspire students through innovative lesson plans, foster a love for the arts, and guide them in developing their skills in various artistic mediums. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the educational experience of our students and contributing to the vibrant school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive art curriculum for secondary students, aligned with IGCSE standards and the British educational framework.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and artistic exploration in students.
  • Teach a range of techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and self-expression.
  • Assess and evaluate student work regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance to enhance artistic skills and conceptual understanding.
  • Develop individualized learning plans to support students with varying abilities and interests in the arts.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as art clubs, workshops, and competitions, to promote student engagement in the arts.
  • Coordinate and execute art exhibitions and showcases, highlighting student work and fostering community involvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across subjects to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and trends in art education.
  • Engage with parents and the school community to promote the importance of arts education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or license (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching IGCSE Art or equivalent within a British curriculum framework.
  • Native English speaker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of various art techniques, styles, and history.
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital tools in art education.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a British international school setting.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment practices in the arts.
  • Ability to use various art materials and tools safely and effectively.
