The Role

Uptown International School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mandarin Teacher that also holds an EAL qualification.

Role Overview

As a teacher, you will be implementing, planning and running interventions to support our students in school who are working on their English language acquisition. You will collaborate closely with teachers, and staff to ensure that planning and resources support these students to reach their full potential.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective Mandarin and EAL curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Provide support and resources to teachers to differentiate instruction for all students.
  • Assess students' language proficiency and monitor their progress.
  • Attend planning meetings and give feedback to teams on how to improve their support resourcing.
  • Stay updated with current research and best practices in education.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mandarin

Teaching certification

ESL/EAL certification

Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and teaching methodologies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
