The role of a peripatetic Music teacher includes, but is not limited to:
- Teaching individual Music lessons which are engaging, relevant to the age and ability of the child and help them to make progress.
- Inspiring pupils to continue with their studies and practice in between lessons.
- Completing annual Safeguarding courses in line with the requirements of the school.
- Contributing to the school’s pastoral logs and information for the wellbeing and safeguarding of pupils.
- Keeping parents informed of lessons and performing opportunities.
- Invoicing parents and developing relationships with new parents.
- Formally reporting on pupils' progress each term.
- Liaising with the Director of Music and other school Music staff as appropriate and keeping abreast of relevant email communications within the school.
- Preparing pupils fully for exams, including sight reading and aural preparation.
- Helping pupils contribute to the musical life and musical leadership of the school.
- Be willing to teach remotely should the school need to operate online at any time.
- Be fully up to date with safeguarding procedures and training and other significant school policies.

- The role also has scope to work within our growing Music Community Engagement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Moreton Hall is seeking to recruit an inspirational and versatile Woodwind teacher to join our thriving and award winning Music Department who can teach across both our Prep and Senior Schools. Candidates must be proficient in Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone and be willing to demonstrate this at interview.

Additional Information:
- The role is self-employed and covered by a contract between the visiting Music teacher and the school as to working expectations from both sides.
- The rate of pay is agreed by the school for all peripatetic teachers to charge parents.
- The role has a degree of flexibility as to which days can be worked and take on additional pupils during the course of the year.
- The role is line managed by the Visiting Music Teacher Coordinator and Director of Music.
- There will be a number of staff INSET days outside of term time which are published in advance where it is useful to attend in person.
- It is expected that time will be given appropriately to recruit new pupils and also to showcase pupils’ achievements in concerts and other performing opportunities.

Located in the town of Oswestry, Shropshire, Moreton Hall is an all-through school with a Sixth Form for pupils between the ages of 3 and 18. The school was founded in 1913 in an Elizabethan manor house. Boys are accepted up to Year 8.
