Location:     Groveside School, Reading, Berkshire

Salary:       Up to £45,000 per annum dependent on experience

Hours:       37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday

Contract:     Permanent, Term Time Only

**Welcome Bonus (£500 paid once you start employment, £500 after successful completion of final probation).

About the role

We are looking to appoint an experienced SENCO to join our new school at the start of our exciting journey. Our SENCO will be a key senior leader supporting the headteacher, staff, families and pupils and will be responsible for the management, delivery, and monitoring of the provision for students Special Educational Needs. 

You will be: 

  • managing the provision of individual classroom support, small group work, 1:1 withdrawal sessions as well as the differentiation of learning resources and development of appropriate teaching and learning styles for students. 
  • responsible for the deployment of support staff, evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of SEND provision, reporting as required to the SLT and Governing Body. 
  • working closely with external agencies to ensure our students get the best possible support to be able to achieve their potential. 
  • leading staff INSET opportunities around Individual Needs and ensure all staff are aware of new SEND initiatives and developments in legislation. 
  • expected to teach some lessons in your subject in order for you to have an opportunity to work with larger groups of students in an area of interest and expertise.

Groveside School is a Brand-New Special Educational Needs School for Pupils 7 - 16 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Our school opened in September 2024 and will cater for 60 pupils.
