Millfield Prep School is seeking an exceptional SENCO to join our thriving Personalised Curriculum Centre (PCC).

The PCC is at the heart of our school, integrating the AEN and EAL departments to provide holistic support for all pupils, both academically and pastorally. Recognised as "a major feature and strength of the School" (ISI 2023), the PCC is renowned for nurturing independent learning and delivering outstanding care and guidance.

Our department is staffed by a team of experienced, specialist teachers with a deep understanding of additional educational needs. Pupils are taught in small groups, allowing for personalised attention and meaningful progress across the curriculum. The PCC is well-equipped with resources to implement innovative, multi-sensory programmes that enhance critical skills such as visual and auditory perception, memory, reasoning, and processing. Our tailored learning journeys also focus on improving reading accuracy, fluency, comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary.

Following a major redesign and refurbishment, the PCC boasts state-of-the-art facilities to enrich the learning experience. As we look to the future, we aim to consolidate and reshape our staffing structure, ensuring even greater support for pupils across many areas. Experience and expertise in supporting EAL pupils would be a significant advantage.

This is a full-time role, which includes Saturday responsibilities. For an exceptional candidate, we may consider a part-time position - please state your preference in your covering letter.
