Job overview

The Blue Coat School is looking to appoint a, highly skilled, motivated and qualified SENDCo.

We are a rapidly developing coeducational 11-16 Community School with 930 students. You would lead the school SEND department at an exciting time when we are looking to develop and re-define the SEN provision within our school. The SEN faculty comprises of a talented team who support individualised and targeted intervention programmes, and engage, inspire and challenge all of our young students to ensure an inclusive educational experience. The successful candidate will shape and develop the vision for SEN as well as further recruitment.

Candidates will be committed to the learning and development of students and support the strategic overview of the academic outcomes of learners with SEND. You will also be responsible for ensuring that children with SEND have access to a rich, broad and balanced curriculum, which is inclusive of their needs. You will support the training for all teaching and support staff, to ensure appropriate provision is in place for learners with SEND in both interventions and in the classroom.

While we are seeking a qualified SENDCo, we also welcome applications from candidates who have QTS and are committed to obtaining the new NPQ for SENDCo’s which we can provide as part of the South Farnham Teaching School Hub.
