An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join the Ashton Sixth Form College busy and highly regarded Examinations Department.

The Exams Department is at the heart of all college assessment, organising and implementing both internal and external examinations and controlled assessments across a range of programmes and cohorts, including A Level, BTEC, NCFE/Cache, T level, GCSE and adult education courses. This is a hugely successful team which is hard working, meticulous, supportive and innovative – offering a high level of service and care to all stakeholders.

The post-holder will work closely with the Examinations Manager to plan and oversee all internal and external examinations and assessments within the busy annual calendar. Excellent planning skills and attention to detail are essential, to ensure that assessments run smoothly and meet all the requirements of JCQ and awarding bodies. Excellent communication skills are essential; for communicating examinations-related information to students, parents, staff and other key parties.

This post would be ideal for an experienced Examinations Officer looking to move into leadership, or an established Examinations Manager who is working in a smaller centre or school, but wishes to broaden their experience of leadership through working with a larger team or experience a wider range of assessments. There are four other members of the department as well as a large team of invigilators.

Ashton Sixth Form College is the leading provider of 16-18 education in the area. The college is located in Tameside, Greater Manchester and supports around 2,000+ students on A-Level and vocational programmes. The college also offers a number of Adult and Higher Education courses.
