Job overview

At Athersley North Primary School, we believe that all pupils deserve the best education available. All pupils are valued, regardless of their background or ability. Pupils are provided with every opportunity to achieve their potential. We combine high expectations and high standards with a strong sense of kindness, inclusivity and enjoyment.

We wish to recruit a Senior Inclusion Officer to join our vibrant primary school community, situated in a challenging area of Barnsley. If you have a knack for supporting children and an understanding of behavioural needs, this role could be perfect for you!

In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of our school, working closely with staff, pupils and parents to foster a positive and inclusive environment. You’ll play a vital part in developing and implementing effective behaviour management strategies, ensuring our pupils feel safe, supported, and eager to learn. Your expertise will not only help resolve behavioural difficulties but will also nurture those who face challenges and empower them to thrive.

We value team players who can collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external agencies. As part of your role, you will lead early help assessments and participate in multi-agency meetings to create holistic support plans for our pupils. If you love engaging with children and can think on your feet, this is the role for you!

We are particularly looking for someone with experience working within a challenging environment or with children who have additional needs. You should be resilient, adaptable, and ready to tackle day-to-day challenges with a positive outlook. A solid background in behaviour support, psychology, or education would be a massive advantage.

If you’re ready to take on this rewarding challenge and make a tangible impact in the lives of our pupils, we’d love to hear from you! Please apply and join us in creating a nurturing, energetic, and successful school environment for our pupils.

Visits are actively encouraged, please come and see our fantastic school to find out how you can have an impact on our pupils and community. Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

Closing Date: 5pm on Wednesday 27th November 2024

Interviews will take place on Thursday 5th December 2024
