The Elton High School is seeking to appoint a Senior Science Technician (Grade 8, term-time only plus 10 days).

This is an exciting opportunity for colleagues with existing experience of working in a Lead Technician role, or for colleagues working within a Science Technician role and are seeking career development, to join a highly experienced science team within an Ofsted rated good school.

The post holder will be responsible to the Head of Science and will support the implementation of the science curriculum through the development and management of practical equipment and resources. This post would suit someone who is practically minded, resourceful and enthusiastic and who enjoys working as part of a busy team alongside students and teaching professionals. Applicants should be able to demonstrate flexibility, good organisation, communication and IT skills. Previous experience working under laboratory conditions is essential to enable the successful applicant to take on the technical lead responsibilities.

About The Elton High School

The Elton High School is a co-educational community secondary school based in Bury, Lancashire, for students aged 11-16. It is a non-denominational school that accommodates approximately 1,000 students in a new building opened in September 2016.

The Elton High School serves the local catchment area of Walshaw/Elton/North Bury and is heavily oversubscribed. It has a stable roll with an annual admission number of 200.

The secondary school's facilities include fully equipped science laboratories and technology rooms, a large sports hall, an activity studio and a multi-media learning resource centre, within a modern, spacious three-storey building.
