If so, we have the role for you! We’re looking for an experienced practitioner to join us at our school based in Chorley, as our Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
Based at Oliver House School and working across the hub of education and residential services, the post holder will progress the SaLT specific therapeutic services where the needs of the young people vary in levels of functioning, many with a diagnosis of autism as well as associated needs.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary well-being and therapeutic services team which is required to meet the needs of the children and young people. The team includes Speech and Language Therapy, Behaviour Analyst, Occupational Therapy and other appropriate professionals and services. Someone with a holistic and integrated approach to care, education and clinical services would be perfect for this role. You will also contribute to staff training, consultation and reflective practice.

About the school:
Oliver House is an independent specialist school for boys and girls aged 6 to 19 who have mild, moderate and severe autistic spectrum disorders and associated complex learning needs, challenging behaviour and /or associated anxiety.
Our well established multi-disciplinary team maintain a nurturing and supportive environment where our young people can flourish.
The Post Holder will work collaboratively to deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our young people. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team making a real difference and implementing a holistic therapeutic approach.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a practitioner who has a clear vision of what outstanding therapeutic services look like. You would need to demonstrate drive, motivation and resilience and the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and build consensus.
Essential Criteria:
- Recognised and relevant Speech and Language qualification.
- Registered with HCPC.
- Relevant SaLT experience working as a Therapist, including working with the specific client group or related field.
- Experience of representing speech and language therapy in the context of multi-disciplinary working and multi-agency treatment and care.
- Experience of reviewing and developing therapy standards, policies and procedures.
- Clear and concise report writing.

About Oliver House School
Oliver House School is a specialist day and residential school for boys and girls aged 6 to 19 who have mild, moderate and severe autistic spectrum conditions and associated learning difficulties. Children may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their difficulties and their lack of social understanding.

Many of the pupils at Oliver House School may have been out of education for considerable periods of time which is why we make it our aim to encourage our pupils to be happy to attend school on a daily basis, with the help and support of our dedicated team of staff.
Placements can either be on a day, residential or respite basis for up to 52 weeks of the year depending on individual need. All of the young people referred to the school will have a Statement of Special Educational Need. Oliver House School can provide places for up to 40 pupils.
