Clay Hill School is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs. Our mission is to empower every child to achieve their potential through tailored support and high-quality teaching.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction that meets the needs of students with ASC and associated needs, fostering engagement and promoting independence
  • Assess pupils’ progress and needs regularly, using data to inform planning and set achievable goals. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Provide tailored support to pupils, implementing strategies for social, emotional, and behavioral development. Encourage positive interactions and foster an inclusive classroom culture
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education and well-being
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices in supporting pupils with ASC and associated needs. Share knowledge and strategies with colleagues
  • Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes respect and learning


Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with ASC and associated needs, ideally in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and tailored teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
  • Experience of teaching pupils in key stage 3 & 4 desirable
  • Experience and passion for humanities desirable.

Clay Hill School is an independent, specialist day school for young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Attachment Disorder and associated complex needs. We provide education for up to 42 young people aged 5 to 19 years

We provide a warm and welcoming, yet structured environment, which encourages children and young people to develop the social, educational and practical skills they require to enjoy and achieve.

Clay Hill School is located near Lyndhurst, Hampshire. Enjoying a picturesque setting in extensive grounds in the New Forest, the school is still well-positioned for easy access to the M27 and M3
